eXponentia, sign agreement to create joint venture company - “eXponentia sas”
Founding partners of automotive training initiative, eXponentia, sign agreement to create joint venture company - “eXponentia sas”.
Automechanika, GERMANY, September 16, 2010 – The founding members of the European training initiative eXponentia: Gates; MS Motor Service International; SKF; Tenneco, TRW and Valeo have used this year’s Automechanika as a platform to announce the creation of ‘eXponentia SAS’. The registered joint venture (JV) company will see all six original equipment (OE) automotive manufacturers as shareholders and will serve the training and technical information needs of garages across Europe. eXponentia SAS will be headquartered in Paris.
The intention is to offer an OE quality training programme for every automotive part group and technology. The technical information services, which include help-lines, are benchmarked to OE levels.
On behalf of eXponentia SAS, Francois Augnet commented: “All partners are proud to announce the formation of this new company which will serve the training and information needs of the European independent aftermarket (IAM). As a registered company, the business can develop and grow more quickly in order to support the need of a rapidly changing market over the next few years”.
“It is our considered opinion that it will be the forward thinking garages across Europe, the garages that have access to technical and technological training and knowledge, which will prosper and grow more quickly. The recent Block Exemption changes will open up the market. Increasing complexity of the vehicle parc through new powertrains, advanced on board electronics, will drive the requirement for the higher level of technical training, that we as OE manufacturers - and World leaders in our chosen field - can provide”.
“Through our offer of tailor made, focused training programmes and our technical help-line service, we aim to give the IAM access to the knowledge they will need to continue to repair all vehicles effectively.” Francois Augnet concluded.
eXponentia was launched in 2004 to offer the European IAM a higher level of training, as a direct response to the increasingly rapid introduction of new technology affecting the European car parc.
Initially, eXponentia SAS will service the following nine European countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, UK, but it is intended to roll this offer out over a wider geographic market as the company develops and grows.
